I struggled a lot and many times went into depression. I could not do a number of simple things - utter my name, place orders over the telephone, read out loud, ask questions in class, etc.

I whole heartedly tried a number of speech therapies hoping to get fluent, but I realized over and again that the speech therapists were not able to understand the mental agony of a PWS. They were purely dealing with physiological aspect of stammering and not at all with psychological aspect.

This was a group of courageous young lads from all over India that took a leap of faith when they registered for the course in the remote hope of getting better control of their speech.

This initiative is being led by McGuire Programme veteran Kaushik Valluri who explains here the background;

Do you Stammer or know of anyone who does? I am a person who used to ssssstammer terribly and saying my name was probably the single most difficult thing for over 20 years of my life.

I am happy to say that I am now past the slippery slope and well on my way to eloquence.

Prior to The McGuire Programme, I attended numerous speech therapy courses for a period of over 15 years, but only the McGP helped me to break through.

The program provided me with a holistic way to retrain my thinking around speaking. It has allowed me to dream again to accomplish each one of my Big Hairy Audacious goals.
