Newly qualified teacher who is struggling to find a job due to her stammer
● Emily thinks her stammer started when she was about six or seven years old, there was no trigger she can remember, it just happened one day.
● Emily graduated in Primary Teaching this year from Durham University and says her ultimate aim is to be able to go into an interview for a teaching job and ‘not let my nerves of my stammer take over the interview’.
● All of her classmates have got teaching positions starting in September and Emily has been left feeling upset and frustrated after applying for over 60 jobs and with no success.
● Emily says when she is in the classroom, she has almost a different persona and her stammer pretty much vanishes, however, in one-to-one interviews her nerves get the better of her and she believes this is why she hasn't been able to find a permanent teaching position yet.
