Alone We Are Strong… Together We Are Stronger

We held our first course for 2019 for the German Region of The McGuire Programme in the wonderful city of Düsseldorf. We ventured back to our old location which has been newly renovated and it’s looking better than ever We were joined by 9 brave new students and 16 returning members. This was the biggest course we’ve had in relation to the number of new students joining us. The new students came from far and wide and we had 14 different nationalities in attendance.

We were joined by 9 brave new students and 16 returning members. This was the biggest course we’ve had in relation to the number of new students joining us. The new students came from far and wide and we had 14 different nationalities in attendance.

The multinational feel to the courses held in German add so much to our courses. We get to meet people from all walks of life and from different cultures. This is the magic behind our programme, this is the secret sauce that makes it work. You feel connected, you feel part of a supportive community of like-minded people all working together to become stronger and more confident in our communication and with life in general. The camaraderie, the mutual trust and the friendships that are generated among people who spend a lot of time together, working on the same issues, and getting to totally understand stuttering, both its physical attributes and its psychology.

The feeling that people shared during the course was one of change, a change within. A feeling of belonging, of finding your tribe. Not many people get to find their tribe and we are the lucky ones. We build and continue to build a strong network of people who stutter and who are helping people who stutter. It doesn’t get any better than this, it truly doesn’t. This is not a course, this is a lifestyle. A new lifestyle.

We give ourselves permission to be happy, happy at work, happy with life, and happy in general. We encourage our members to be the very best version of themselves that they can be. And we bring it all together to work as one super-team of continual, unconditional support.

We explore our strengths and weaknesses and take things further by combining our newfound strengths to be one beautifully connected team. We are striving to be the best version of ourselves, to be all that we are capable of and to exist as happier individuals. Working together makes the impact incredibly powerful. 

We are a supportive network, we build others up, and we help each other to explore, stretch and grow their strengths and maximise their capabilities. We all take part in developing ourselves and others.

We are making working on our speech our top priority, we are making work, work for us. We are a ‘positivity generating machine’, working with each other and having fun speaking and we are now taking action and doing things that keep us going and that keep us energised.

Alone we are strong… together we are stronger.
