McGuire Programme’s Milestone Online/Hybrid 2024 Course in India
Two successful courses in the year 2024 brought together participants from across India and beyond, celebrating ten years of the programme’s presence in the region. The Winter course was the McGuire Programme’s first online/hybrid course in India that marked a significant moment for people who stutter.
What made this course special wasn’t just its hybrid format – it was the determination shown by every participant. New students faced their fears head-on, and worked hard to learn and practice new speaking techniques in real world conversations. The transformation was clear: those who arrived with uncertainty left as confident speakers, proving themselves during the final farewell speeches that now have the power to indeed smash their fear of stuttering.
The progress we witnessed with the DEC24 cohort was remarkable,” shares Rishabh Panchamia, the lead course instructor. “The new students weren’t just learning techniques – they were discovering their own internal strength by accepting themselves for who they truly are at the core.
Experienced graduates played a crucial role, returning as coaches to support newcomers. These mentors, having walked the same path, provided both technical guidance and emotional support, creating a powerful support network.
The online/hybrid format, while new, proved highly effective. Careful planning by instructors and coaches ensured that each participant received personal attention, while the digital platform made the program accessible to people from remote areas.
