Last month, we returned to Newry, Co. Down, Northern Ireland to hold our FIRST In-Person course in over 2 years. 11 New Students attended the course and they worked really hard over the 3 days. The parents of the under 18s also attended and they played an important and active part in this course in encouraging and helping the new students overcome their stutter. A great team effort!

Leonard (Len) Langford passed away on Saturday 12 August 2006, following an apparent heart attack at his home.
Amy Stewart was a 24-year-old McGuire graduate from Melbourne, Australia who was killed in a car accident on 2 Sep 2006.
Dave Simpson passed away at the fine age of 94 in Perth, Western Australia.
Since joining The McGuire Programme I have attended numerous courses and improvement days throughout the UK to help with my speech which I have worked hard on. I practice every day so that I don’t fall back to how I was before joining the programme.
Another great intensive course was held virtually in Latin America. Coaches, family and new students held a fantastic experience of how to go beyond stuttering!

In spite of not having any face-to-face courses for two years, the Bristol course was extremely successful.
This is a great example of expanding your comfort zone and working with self-acceptance, which I see as some of the key concepts in the work of getting more control of your stuttering. I am very grateful that I chose to join the McGuire Programme and I am really looking forward to the further journey.
